dreamwidth/neocities: my personal power couple!
i've tried my hand at several "social media"/online platforms and i really have to say that i think a combination of a dreamwidth and a neocities is my personal sweetspot. while you can code a site to do anything dreamwidth can, i just think dreamwidth has an easier interface and i enjoy using it as a blogging platform.
if you're looking to dip your toes into coding and neocities seems too overwhelming, i suggest dreamwidth! dreamwidth is also receptive to html coding and the like, so you can still learn the ropes of customizing before you leap into site creation if that's something you want
