collector manifesto
i enjoy "doting" on my figurines/toys/etc, taking good care of them, making sure that they feel at home... heh! i'm obviously aware they're not real lol but it's fun to give them the best shelf lives they can have!
because i care so deeply about my treasures, i'm vehemently against scalping; part of what makes this hobby so enjoyable is trading, bartering and being in community with people and i think this recent En Masse Reseller/Scalper Craze has really damaged collector circles. the "everyone for themselves" culture has been a real bummer to watch grow... we should be making collecting as fun as possible for everyone who's interested!
i also fully concede that all of these things will probably just be in a landfill when i die Or Whatever, but in my optimistic mind they will live on for a really long time and wind up in the loving arms of people who care about them like i did/do! :')
i'm staunchly anti-gatekeeping; i'll happily tell you where i got something, and if i can, help you track one down too! never hesitate to ask, i love helping people out and i love when people ask questions or come to me for help heh!
